I loved Everything I Know About Love and was hoping some of the questions or responses would be more risqué. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. this book is made up of collected advice from dolly's sunday times agony aunt column, and as expected, each response blends empathy, humour and emotionally intelligent wisdom in a way that is so quintessentially dolly: comforting, light and reminiscent of having a long coffee with an old friend.

Because I was feeling something that other people had felt and therefore I wasn't, as I suspected, the loneliest and strangest woman in the world. Dolly has thoughtfully answered questions ranging from the painfully—and sometimes hilariously—relatable to the occasionally bizarre. Nothing like zooming through 50-odd advice columns on a Sunday evening to put all your worries about life at ease. Dolly has an incredible ability to put herself in another person's shoes, something that sometimes seems so easy, but can actually turn out to be quite difficult. They include breakups and body issues, families, friendships, dating, divorce, the pleasures and pitfalls of social media, sex, loneliness, longing, love and everything in between.Without judgement, and with deep empathy informed by her own, much-chronicled adventures with love, friends, and dating, Dolly helps us navigate the labyrinths of life. i look forward to dipping in and out of it the next time i find myself wishing i had a millennial big sister to bring me back down to earth. From the author of Everything I Know About Love and longtime Sunday Times Style columnist comes advice and answers to your questions about dating, love, sex, family, friendship and more.

Her first novel Ghosts was published in October 2020 and was also a top five Sunday Times Bestseller.kind of hoping she does some more tv producing because the tv adaptation of everything i know about love was great. what I learnt from sharing my most private pain with a semi-professional problem-solver was that the mere act of asking for help was, in itself, healing. dear dolly is made up of snippets from dolly alderton's agony aunt column in the sunday times, so it’s the perfect, low-maintenance book that you can dip in and out of whenever you have 5 minutes. Her writing is funny but also poignant and actually gives time to problems individuals have that may otherwise be dismissed as ‘pointless drivel’.

having loved dolly’s previous works, particularly ‘everything i know about love’ (which is an all time favourite of mine), i was excited to devour more of her words of wisdom. There's nothing groundbreaking or new here, but it's refreshing to read answers that urge readers to be true to themselves. In my opinion, it is a short (230 pages) and easy read, but very informative and accessible, in which we can identify with many of the doubts mentioned. The pre-loved books are carefully cleaned and maintained offering a wide variety of general and specialist titles from children's to adults. Coming to the world in tandem with Dolly Alderton’s novel Good Material, Dear Dolly is a collection of her insights and empathy towards readers asking questions about love, loneliness and human connection. While I was reading this book I felt like I was almost having a conversation with an older sister that I never had.

what I really loved in this was that her humor still shines through really well and I laughed out loud multiple times. Reading this book is like having a chat with a knowledgable great friend, who can see things for what they are and name them in a really honest way. While none of the questions selected for this book was really compatible with my life right now, I still found reading her replies empathetic and friendly.even the advice columns that weren’t relevant to me were engaging and insightful, and her moral perspectives and personal ethics very much aligned with my own.
