I know eighteen is young but I wouldn’t have ever thought to act like this when I was eighteen) so I struggled in seeing why she was acting out against Magnus in some of the scenarios. But the ending was probably the most angsty and explosive yet, not just sexually, but the plot as well. Warm- a medium level of sexual tension, a balance of sexual and emotional intimacy, lighter on the details in the sexual moments. There were some aspects to the story that kept this from being a five-star read (and you all know how picky I can be with my five-star reads at times) my biggest issue was the heroine in this book. What I loved the most about this book was a certain aspect of the characters’ mentality which thankfully steered it away from the typical taboo dynamic.

And even though I’m beginning to appreciate dub-con or non-con I can’t change the fact that this premise irks me.When Magnus was punishing Tinsley (h) and wouldn't allow her to use the bathroom so she pissed all over herself, I actually wanted to throw myself into a fire. I was in for a seductive time of hidden glances and forbidden touches, but I was not prepared for the gut-wrenching LOVE I felt between these two. The whole thing (the emphasis on the love of animals) looked superficial, like a parlor trick that was supposed to bring them together and bond over something that is very common ?

Apart from the gripping romance of the principal characters, and the substantial plot that geared up the whole story, it’s the hard-core/moral lessons are exactly what make us stay in reading. Whether this was kismet, God’s will, some divine decree, or a fucking cosmic alignment, I didn’t care.Making what was supposed to be a summer of celebration into an endless string of heartache that led us to one Brutal Revelation.
