Description

Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy is one of the most seminal horror (or horror/comedy depending on how you look at them) sets of all times. EVIL DEAD RISE is produced by long time franchise producer Rob Tapert (Ash vs Evil Dead, Don't Breathe) and executive produced by series creator and horror icon Sam Raimi and cult legend and "Ash" himself, Bruce Campbell. aperture favored by Raimi, but this is only due to the obvious zoom-in used for accomplishing this new frame. The film stars Lily Sullivan (I Met a Girl, Barkskins), Alyssa Sutherland (New Gold Mountain, Vikings), Morgan Davies (The End, Storm Boy), Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence) and introducing Nell Fisher (Northspur).

Now, hang on a moment, isn't that the naughty tree branch violating Ellen Sandweiss on-location - the very thing she says happened in post-production and she wasn't even aware of until she saw the premier .If I had to complain about this incredibly arresting transfer, then I would say that some minor aliasing occurs from time to time, although I only really noticed this during the first quarter. The Evil Dead comes very highly recommended, folks, but if you are able to play the region “A” locked US edition then I would urge you to plump for that one!

I always felt that the 2013 remake was a BRUTAL film gore wise, but Lee Cronin hits the ground running and amps up the gore from level 11, to full on 15 on a scale from 1-10.All of what I said about the qualities of the US video transfer goes for this one, as well, but I will say one thing, though – that shot in which Robert Tapert has been removed from the side of the frame actually did appear more obvious this time around. version of the film are available on this release (as they were on the Ultimate Edition DVD produced a couple years ago). Black levels are greatly enhanced with the HDR/Dolb Vision here, more so than the colors will due to the low light. The only extra offered on the Blu-ray disc, and the only exclusive here, is a brand new commentary track with Raimi, Campbell and producer Robert Tapert.

Make-Up Test lasts for just over a minute and shows us a try-out for a stop-motion head disintegrating. His chants quickly venture out into woods, awakening an unholy force that has remained dormant in the forest. As an added bonus, the filmmakers have decided, in their immense wisdom and genius, to give fans a choice between two aspect ratios. They sit down along with Bruce Campbell for a half-hour chat about what it was like to be a part of a classic horror film and what they've been up to since filming it. The 'skin' of the book is made of latex and will smell quite badly for a few weeks, but this will wear off. First of all, a couple of the extras features that were promised with this Sony edition, which is a single disc with everything housed on the Blu-ray, as opposed to a supplemental DVD in the US - “Ellen and the Teacher” (?
