Description

As a result, one can operate the machine with precision for longer periods of time, ensuring a better quality of cuts in the process. In this article, I am going to give you my opinion of which model I think is the better one. Read on as I give you the information you need about each model individually to help you choose for yourself which model meets your personal requirements Read on as I give you a great idea about the product and its performance to help you understand if it meets your requirements and expectations.

These products are ideal for those with professional requirements such as cabinet makers and woodworkers. The motor has a 6-speed setting that allows users to choose between 800 – 3500 SPM. It also has 3 orbital settings to increase its versatility in various applications. Though there were no big differences, the dust extraction joint was a really helpful feature that allowed me to keep my surroundings neat, while minimizing the amount of cleaning work I had to do after completing my job. This was enough to convince me that the DJV182Z was better than the Makita XVJ02Z. On the other hand, the Makita XVJ02Z does not have a dust nozzle. It only has a dust blower, which is available on the DJV182Z as well. The motor is brushless, which keeps the size and weight down. This also gives you more runtime from any 18V LXT battery you use, and makes the jigsaw very durable. The base plate can be angled left or right to 45º. Soft-start is a real bonus as it provides a greater level of control when you’re starting the cut. The motor gives you variable speed up to 3,500spm and a stroke length of 26mm. Therefore translating into cuts up to 135mm into wood and 10mm into steel. While testing out my machine initially, I realized I had to engage the safety switch every time I had to make a cut. Having to do it with both hands, it was a major inconvenience that stifled my workflow. After my hands-on experience with both these models, I found that they were very similar except for the one main difference I had mentioned above. They had similar features and user experiences, while also sharing similar issues with the soft no-load system.

It is important to have the shoe made of heavy and high-quality materials like die-cast aluminum, magnesium, and steel to ensure a comfortable user experience and improved cutting quality.

Specifications

This jigsaw from Makita comes with a brushless cordless motor. This helps reduce the heat generated as well as the noise produced by the running motor. The blade refused to speed up as it did not detect enough resistance. This confirmed my suspicion that this feature was flawed, and I would be better off without it. Speed is measured in rotations per minute (RPM) and will either be a fixed speed or a variable speed. The much better choice is variable speed as it gives you much better control. It also allows you to use the right speed depending on what material you are cutting, such as soft woods, hard woods and metal. You also want a longer stroke length and anything over 200 mm is a great choice. A brushless electronic motor runs more efficiently than brushed types. This can help reduce the tool's energy consumption. Cordless jigsaws have rechargeable batteries that power the motor. They have limited runtimes but are compact and easy to carry around, making them the right choice for users on the go or with basic power requirements.

Welcome to Hankintech! We are a DIY hub designed to not only help you get the job done right, but also connect you with quality tradesmen when extra help is needed! The Makita XVJ02Z Jigsaw has a lot of similarities with the above-mentioned DJV182Z. It shares a number of specifications with its competitor, making it one of the toughest comparisons I have had to do in recent times. The pricing of this product was on the higher side compared to other products with similar specifications in the market. I would have liked the product to be priced more competitively, making it a value for money investment that I could justify any day. The product has a tool-less blade switch technology thanks to its blade clamps, allowing users to seamlessly switch between blades in between jobs. It also has dual LED lights to improve the visibility of the cutting line in low light conditions.

The motor is cordless, allowing it to be used in a number of locations without a regular power supply. The product is compatible with the 18V LXT Li-ion battery lineup from Makita.

The base of the machine is made of heavy gauge aluminum that helps absorb vibrations due to the cutting actions of the blade. It also helps increase the stability of the machine while in operation, increasing the accuracy of the work as a result. Another important aspect while choosing the blade is the material they are designed for. This will ensure an improved stroke length through the given material without breakage due to the resistance offered by it.
