Hi guys, by no means a massive Ben Howard fan BUT I Forget Where We Were is a beautiful album and one which I’d love to have on vinyl, but it seems to be either very difficult to find or very expensive. I want to start out by saying that I am a tremendous fan of Ben's previous work on Every Kingdom and The Burgh Island EP. The soundscape that is painted is so immersive and alive it is impossible to not be engulfed into his world of music. Acoustic guitar is traded for atmospheric electric guitar, which immediately imparts a darker more brooding sound. He could either have carbon-copied the successful production of 'Every Kingdom', albeit with the risk of not quite hitting the same standard and pulling the same tired tricks out of the bag. At parts in it however, there were small glimpses of another side to Howard's music; a darker, more intense tone of such that was shown in the excellent track 'Black Flies' especially. Whether performing solo or with his band, he delivers powerful performances that leave a lasting impression. With this faultless excellent album, Howard has created music that is unique, compelling and incredibly engaging.

On first listen 'Rivers In Your Mouth' is equally as radio-friendly as anything off the debut, but as you venture further down the playlist you realise that this is a much deeper encounter full of substance.
