One of Brazil’s favourite Cachaça, Velho Barreiro is delicate on the nose but powerful earthy tones come through when you sip. In the mid-1800s, Pennsylvania Dutchman Abraham Bomberger purchased the distillery from the Shenk family, and the distillery became known for many decades as Bomberger’s. The US*1 expressions honour Michter's heritage and consist of some of the finest small batch whiskeys available today. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Michter's offers a range of highly acclaimed, super-premium Ryes, Bourbons, and American Whiskeys.

It is characterized by rich caramel with balanced vanilla, stone fruit notes, smoky depth, with an oak finish. During the 1950s, Lou Forman, one of the distillery’s then-owners, created the modern Michter’s brand name by combining portions of his sons’ names – Michael and Peter. Although the distillery did reopen after the repeal of Prohibition, it changed hands many times over the next few decades and frequently occupied a precarious financial position.With a mashbill featuring the highest quality American corn, Michter's US*1 Bourbon is a truly small batch bourbon, composed of no more than two dozen barrels to ensure an excellence of spirit from each and every one. At the Michter’s distillery, they chill filter all of our whiskeys instead of using carbon filtration that can strip out flavor and aroma. Distilled to Master Distiller Dan McKee’s exacting specifications, no US 1 whiskey is ever released until Dan and the Michter’s tasting panel deems it ready.
