It’s not overwhelming, as long as you’re not too heavy with it and it’s strength and complexity makes me feel more confident, sexy and powerful. Halfeti is towards the top of my favorites list for a Winter, going out/evening perfume.

Halfeti Leather started as a warm and predominantly plum scent that’s suited more for the Winter. He actually liked it more after it had time to warm up on his skin and the leather smell developed more which you don’t get when you first spray it. Penhaligon’s Empressa & a peek inside their London store Penhaligon’s Legacy of Petra | Unisex fragrance Penhaligon’s Cairo Eau de Parfum is another Penhaligon’s favorite for me. It’s sexy, warm and perfect for an evening perfume for the Winter. I personally find it more of a woman’s perfume than unisex as it is on the sweeter, floral side. I find Empressa to be more peachy and slightly less sweet and muskier with more warmth than Coco Mademoiselle. As well as more addictive (you know when you just want to keep sniffing a perfume) and sensual. Versus Coco Mademoiselle which I find more youthful.I thought it'd also be a good opportunity to revisit the original Halfeti and its first flanker, Halfeti Leather at the same time though, so let us begin.

Whereas, it was Lewis’s favorite of the 3 he tried but he said he still wouldn’t buy it as he still prefers the one’s he has. I don't think I was alone in that thought though and, when the company was bought by Spanish outfit Puig in 2015, it underwent a marketing rebrand. The brief was, no doubt, to keep the things that people liked about the brand (high end perfumes and a sense of British tradition), but ditch the stuffiness. Top hats and tails were out and the 'Trade Routes' and 'Portraits' series were in, followed swiftly by a lot of money from consumers, it seems. I choose the pink Spanish leather sleeve from the 8 leather colors available for this style of bottle. The next step is to have the leather sleeve embossed with up to 3 characters in either silver or gold.

The Trade Routes scent library contains 8 x 2ml Penhaligon’s miniatures (aka samples). I've been road-testing these amazing fragrances for the past couple of weeks and have got to rekindle my love affair for both the orient and British perfume house Penhaligon's. HALFETI CEDAR

Halfeti Leather is the flanker to the original Halfeti release by Penhaligon’s. It opens with a fresh sweetness and dried fruit accord. This is what drew to me to the fragrance in the first place – I really enjoy sweet accords in my fragrances. This is no doubt a beast mode fragrance and one of my best performing. I get an easy 10+ hours of wear from this with only 3-5 sprays. Halfeti Leather, similarly, continues from where it left off with the plum note softening, and the nutmeg starting to shine through, bringing it more into line with its parent. Again, the other notes here are subtle; it's more about how they blend with the leather.

Blenheim Bouquet is a another Penhaligon’s mens fragrance steeped in the houses history. This Eau de Toilette was created 120 years ago by Water Penhaligon for the 9th Duke of Marlborough. Lewis felt it was a summery fragrance but didn’t love this one either as he found it the citrus too overpowering. In terms of longevity, I think all of these are just about average - I get about 5 hours until they're sitting as skin scents. Silage on the original Halfeti and Halfeti Cedar is very good (you will make an impression), but I find Halfeti Leather a touch more muted.

I wouldn’t necessarily choose this as a date night scent or work scent, as it may come across as a little animalic or offensive to others. This fragrance can be polarising so it is important to consider the context with which you choose to wear it. Longevity and Projection And the great thing about the hair fragrance is that you get a little waft of it every time you move your hair, and the breeze blows on it, which just makes you feel very elegant and company-ready! Also, it contains super-fine Argan oil which is amazing for the condition of your hair. Occasions and Versatility I love Halfeti from Penhaligon’s, but it can be a little heady and heavy for me because it is definitely the kind of fragrance that can say hello to a room full of people before you do!
