About this deal

a b Manry, Gia (August 17, 2011). "Interview: Makoto Shinkai". Anime News Network. Archived from the original on February 17, 2015 . Retrieved August 10, 2018.

The Kai Shin Kai is a traditional school of Aikido. The organisation has around twenty member and associate member clubs in the UK and Italy. Later on, when they believe the Mastermind is Babidi due to his use of Dark Ki to influence, empower, and control others during the tournament, Beerus sets his sights on eliminating Babidi who threatens to kill the Supreme Kai. However, it soon becomes apparent that Babidi is being manipulated as well by the Dark Ki. Thus, the true mastermind continues to keep Shin hostage. Eventually Beerus learns that Zahha is the true Mastermind's identity as he had been working as a double agent the manipulating everyone this whole time. Unfortunately, Beerus comes no closer to find Shin.

It's also worth noting that another much-loved fictional hero (and the Studio Ghibli mascot), cuddly spirit Totoro, also lends his name to a real-life environmental Totoro Fund, dedicated to preserving Japan's lush Sayama Hills region, which inspired Miyazaki's anime. In the modern age, Spirited Away's "ma" has inspired internet memes, including a memorable recent series with a masked Bernie Sanders seated alongside Chihiro and No-Face on their dreamy train journey. The film is also set to be adapted into a stage spectacle, created by award-winning British writer/director and honorary associate director of the RSC, John Caird, and due to premiere in Tokyo next year. I think that Miyazaki's films not only caught the zeitgeist in the late 20th Century, for audiences just starting to come to term with environmental issues, but also in the 21st Century, with millennials growing up with a sense that their world has already been despoiled," says Clements. "Makoto Shinkai said it best, about his controversial ending for Weathering With You (2019), when he said that he couldn't bring himself to have a hero save the world, when the real world is already past saving. He said it felt dishonest for young viewers to tell them that there was any possibility beyond somehow learning to cope with the damage that humanity has already done to the world. I think Miyazaki's works are a little bit more optimistic than that – he's ready to start with planting a single tree, and encouraging everybody else to do the same."

Studio Ghibli in general has always been interested in environmental themes," says Clements. "Part of it is born out of their own genuine concerns for the environment, and partly it's a geographical awareness born from the fact that the studio itself is based in a new town in the Tama Hills that used to be open countryside. You get a sense of that most poignantly in [Studio Ghibli co-founder] Isao Takahata's Pom Poko (1994), when the creatures briefly return the town to the way it looked before the trees were cut down and the ponds filled in.

Kai Shin Kai Style

The Garden of Words was aired on the theater screen overseas only in South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, however, it is really recommended to watch if you haven’t watched Makoto Shinkai’s movie. Of course, you can access the anime on the streaming platforms all over the world now. You can easily experience what Makoto Shinkai’s anime is like in The Garden of Words: beautiful reality, the theme of the innocent “boy meets girl”. It takes just 45 mins to watch the mid-length film. Your Name (君の名は。), directed by Makoto Shinkai (新海誠), is one of the most recommended his anime as far as I’m concerned. Your Name delivers an emotional jolt to anime fans around the globe in a positive way in 2016. Shin's attitude changes as the Majin Buu Saga presses forward. When he is first introduced, he squints his eyes at Goku and smiles in a manner that makes him seem mysterious and powerful. Just as what a supreme leader of the universe should be, he is calm, wise, humble and thinks rationally at critical moments. Later on, his constant surprise at the Saiyans power and his dependence on others to protect the universe against Majin Buu make him seem more fearful and innocent, most likely due to his previous inability to combat those kinds of powerful beings himself. Kibito Kai's later roles no longer required direct battle against villains, only interference on Goku's behalf with the use of his Kai Kai.
