The story ends with Reacher reflecting on the fact that he never saw Summer again despite hearing that she received a promotion to Captain. It really gives you a terrific insight into what makes Reacher tick and therefore gives the reader an improved perspective into the character as he is developed in the remainder of the series. Same engaging character (Reacher,) great plot lines, wonderful supporting character development, and best of all, a nice pace to the story.

Kerry did a good job of reading it but I still prefer Jeff Harding (maybe because I am used to the characters he portrays) but nonetheless pretty well narrated and brilliantly written again.Coomer and Vassell, eager to recover the briefcase, set up an exchange between Carbone and their gofer Maj. Căderea comunismului a luat prin surprindere armată americană, care nu mai avea motive să mențină un număr mare de angajați. Registered office address: Unit 34 Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EF. It also provides a lot of background about Reacher and his family that the reader hasn't learned before.

Funding being cut, positions being lost and positions being given to bad seeds, and lots of times where his brother is encouraging him to watch his future and watch his back. Combine that with finely textured relationships--always an extra dimension in this series--and you have a novel that takes Child in a new direction (more Michael McGarrity than Stephen Hunter) but does so flawlessly. He also reveals that Carbone filed a complaint against Reacher accusing him of assaulting the bouncer, and that he intends to use it as evidence that Reacher killed Carbone unless he closes the investigation quickly. The Enemy' is a treat for existing fans, because it's a prequel to the other books, taking Reacher back to his days as a military policeman at the end of the Cold War, revealing key information about why he became the person he is in the later books. Textured, swift and told in Reacher's inimitably tough voice, this title will hit lists and will convince those who still need convincing that Child has few peers in thrillerdom.

Adrian Harrington began trading in 1971, as part of Harrington Brothers in the Chelsea Antiques Market on London's fashionable King's Road. Kramer is, or rather was, a two-star general in Armored Branch, staying in a flea-bitten motel while en route to a hush-hush, no-big-deal conference at Fort Irwin in California.

The story is good and exciting, but to my opinion Lee Child wants to use too many words to make a point, which in several cases doesn't lead anywhere. The two are of like minds when it comes to the investigation and together they start a chain reaction that will have, even the top brass, worried. It's one thing in the corporate world but when it comes to the military or the church---or government! This is a very entertaining read that explains a lot about the army at the end of the Cold War and about the way in which the Military Police work. By signing up I consent to you using my details to send me Jack Reacher newsletters from the UK and confirm that I have read Penguin Random House’s Privacy Policy. Reacher is informed that, due to the charge filed by Carbone, he will be demoted to the rank of Captain unless he denies it, which his lawyer encourages him to do. S. Army, Jack Reacher, an ordinarily untouchable investigator for the 110th Special Unit, is being set up as a fall guy with the worst enemies a man can have.

Lee Child was born October 29th, 1954 in Coventry, England, but spent his formative years in the nearby city of Birmingham. This is my eighth book I’ve read from him, and I can tell you that it totally exceeded my already high expectations. Known for his hold-your-breath action scenes, Child proves equally adept at portraying how a criminal investigation uses the smallest of building blocks (a yogurt container) to construct a compelling circumstantial case. He went to law school in Sheffield, England, and after part-time work in the theater he joined Granada Television in Manchester for what turned out to be an eighteen-year career as a presentation director during British TV's "golden age. I thought I might go climb down under the Pont des Invalides, late at night, and just sniff the air.I enjoyed seeing Reacher deal with the bad eggs of the military, dead pan comments and simple but oh so effective cutting comments. A Reacher as far from the no-credit card, no-last-known-address drifter of the previous eight novels as is possible to imagine. We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child. Only other quibble is the actual recording "chapters" don't appear to be split in to the book chapters, which is a little annoying, but a very minor complaint. Narrator's Reacher voice a little OTT for me; I always imagine him as more neutral than this performance which sounds like a bit cliched tough guy.
