Glitter Jelly was released in two flavours and not only did it look quite fancy with the shiny glitter, they tasted really fruity and wouldn’t stay in the bowl for very long. We use sweeteners in some of our jelly products to give people who want to consume less sugar a choice. Kids can create a unique flavour of jelly by adding their favourite juice or squash – let them use their imagination! Dubbed the 'Queen of the Fakeaway', I recreate healthier, cheaper versions of popular takeaway dishes at home. The ingredients of course are sugar, things to make it solid, things to make it look and taste red, and this time glitter (which I presume is the titanium dioxide).

Note: you can add fruit or juice, but avoid fresh pineapple, kiwi or papaya as these fruits will stop your jelly from setting. Our “make at home” Glitter Jelly is suitable for vegan diets, however our tablet and sugar free crystal jellies, designed to be made at home, contain gelatine so are not suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets. Like the others, this is just as fruity and doesn’t just taste watery which can make some Jellies disappointing. I was a little apprehensive of eating jelly that contained glitter – even if it is edible glitter it just didn’t sit well with me at first but I needn’t have worried as it tasted delicious and all the glitter did, was give it a lovely shimmer. It just gives the jelly a wonderful appearance and creates such a fun and pretty twist on this classic kids treat. Even though it's not obvious from the photo above the glitter was noticeable as soon as I added the water. Hartley’s Strawberry Glitter Jelly is a fun and delicious strawberry flavour instant jelly mix with an extra sparkly twist!

What this means is that we can't share their exact recipe with people, as this could mean they could replicate the recipe and gain a commercial advantage. Melt the cubes in half a pint of boiling water, once melted add half a pint of cold water, mix and chill.

The darkness of the Jelly does mean that it’s arguably not as glittery as the other two flavours and it actually tastes similar to a Blue Raspberry Slush Puppy, obviously without the ice. There’s a new range of jelly from Hartley’s available now and it’s extra special — it’s a range of glitter jelly! The flavour too was spot on, there were lots nice berry flavours, with tones of raspberry and blueberry. Create a beautiful and tasty jiggly strawberry jelly with this quick and convenient glitter laced mix. I have never really made jelly in my adult life, so have absolutely no moulds or anything, so I was pleased they had included a cute matchign blue one in the box!

This would be perfect for those having a children’s birthday party with some sort of Frozen theme, but also spot on for adults who forgot to grow up. How could it not, jelly is already a fun party dessert and the addition of glitter is something that should have come sooner if truth be told. Both girls enjoyed their first real taste of jelly, I think that they’ve had a little bit before but this was the first time they had had their own portion.I am mum to matthew who is 37 and natalie who is 32 I have lots of parent hours behind me and always willing to share.
