The book tells of Giant Panda and his friend, Little Dragon. They are a bit like Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet if you will (just not by their character). They go on adventures together. Or they are just trying to get from A to B. The problem is that they often make mistakes and thus get lost. But don't we all? They sometimes need help or think of life in general and how to be happy, how to make it better. As we all should. Their musings are life-affirming and giving solace. Most of the drawings lay bare my soul and are an expression of my feelings past and present. That can be a tough thing to do as our society tends to enjoy a more glossy version of reality. This is a gorgeous, thoughtful, uplifting book about love, friendship, and not stressing too much about the goings-on around us over which we have little to no power. While the drawings have the charm of Winnie-the-Pooh, the captions have the depth of ancient proverbs: “‘What if I meet people who don’t like me or the things I do?’ asked Tiny Dragon. ‘You must walk your own path,’ said Big Panda. ‘Better to lose them than lose yourself.’” A guiding light in the darker months, Big Panda and Tiny Dragon is the beautifully illustrated and mindful journey of two friends through the seasons, inspired by Buddhist philosophy Explore your surroundings with the inquisitive eye of Tiny Dragon, our friend who is big in heart if not in stature. James was born in the Forest of Dean and he's spent most of his life writing and drawing. He studied Zoology at university and after graduating he moved to Ireland. From there he travelled around the UK living in Newcastle, Swansea and Cheltenam, some of the time living on a narrowboat.

yeah, it definitely didn't compare to the Little Prince. this one is very much simpler, while the little prince had an actual plot & world building & reasons behind actions or dialogues, which usually regardless of age, majority of adults can enjoy it too. but this one is contained of a journey (the reasons or destinations, were not quite mentioned) with small inspiring quotes. same philosophy. a reminder. By dipping into this little book of simple Zen Buddhist sayings, you can calm your anxiety and return serenity to your soul. For almost two years, he spoke to callers to the Samaritans about everything from their depression to thoughts of suicide. “That’s one of the reasons I started doing the drawings. That’s perhaps why my pictures connect with people. I understand sadness.” While the drawings have the charm of Winnie-the-Pooh, the captions have the depth of ancient proverbs' GUARDIANWriter and artist James Norbury began illustrating the adventures of Big Panda and Tiny Dragon, inspired by Buddhist philosophy and spirituality, to share the ideas that have helped him through the most difficult times, in the hope they can help others too. Misli, kojih je ova knjiga puna, trebalo bi uokviriti i staviti na vidljiva mjesta po prostorijama u kojima redovito boravimo. Bio bi to divan, oku i duši, ugodan ukras. And on their journey through the ever-changing seasons, join these two friends as they learn how to live in the moment, be at peace with uncertainty, and find the strength to overcome life's obstacles, together. Dan Bunyard, Michael Joseph’s nonfiction publishing director, said that he “was instantly keen” and that the book’s “messages about self-belief, self-value, individual freedom and social connection” immediately chime with people. WORDS OF WISDOM: The seemingly simple, and often silly, conversations between Big Panda and Tiny Dragon reveal meaningful insights on friendship, inner wisdom, and self-acceptance.
